It's unlikely that a change of meter for another property will have affected your meter.
Bear in mind that between your previous bill and this one prices have increased a lot. Also, now it's a lot colder/darker so you'll be using more power. You need to factor those in. also look at your habits, are you using lights more? Cooking with electric more often? Even silly little things can have a huge impact, any new appliances too.
If you cna't see a reason why it would be that much of a difference contact the supplier and request a meter accuracy test. Beware that they may charge you for this.0 -
Is your flat all electric - no gas? What sort of heating? How do you heat hot water? Do you have Economy 7?
If you have electric heating and an immersion heater, your bills will be high. How many kwh did you use between June -Sept? Was there any heating on?
Was the previous bill for £600 includ ing heating?0 -
have you checked the new meter reading is accurate?Indecision is the key to flexibility0

I recieved my elec bill with the right meter readings, from june to sep, they are saying that my bills £300 i stay in a 2 bed flat and work all day.The prev bill from hydro for 3mths was £600 so in the last 6mths they are saying that my elec is costing £900 am i supplying the full street. MY neighbour got a new meter fitted round about the same time as my first dear bill and i needed to be in as they needed my elec to be off so she could get her new meter fitted do you think that is something to do with me getting expensive bills in
- Do your bills have the right readings on them?
- Has your daily consumption [as given by actual meter readings] gone up since the changes?
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
To dissolve the people
And elect another?0 -
i have a combi boiler and gas cooker i am fixed so my electric shouldnt be 100 per month , i put my computer on and off when not in use along with every thing else i think i amgetting ripped of they are saying that i am using 2500 units every quarter0
-
2500 a quarter is about 27kwh a day. That's high but not impossible even without heating. Do you use a tumble drier or electric shower on a daily basis? What about fridges, freezers, dishwashers? Older appliances tend to use more energy than newer models. Plasma TV, playstation, fish tanks etc all add up. It could be a lot of things that aren't high kwh users on their own, but added together, they could be responsible for a lot of that 27 units a day.0
