Can anyone suggest a web hosting company who support ASP and a database backend for around £50 a year?
I have looked at UKReg, 1 & 1, my own ISP free space and 34sp.com none of which can meet my criteria (cost and/or ASP support). I don’t need any advance hosting features as the space will be used to host a site for a local voluntary group.

2 heads are better than 1….unless they are on the same body!

check out https://www.dataflame.co.uk
they cover ASP, and have some very attractive numbers with regards to Bandwidth, webspace etc.. you should easily be able to get a package under the price range you quoted£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
Have been looking into the same sort of thing over the past few days as well for a survey site I need to host for uni coursework.
Dataflame were prob the best in the UK but looked at some US hosting sites and they were a bit cheaper. There is brinkster and royaltyhosting. Just signing up to royaltyhosting now and buying my .co.uk domain from 1and1.co.uk as it's only £1.99 a year.
Hope this helps0 -
I use www.dataflame.co.uk also and so far so good.
Nice and cheap, support has been good and reliable so far too.
I use PHP (like ASP but open source) with mySQL (database) and it works great.

have a look at this - hard to beat http://www.web-mania.com/cgi-bin/hostshop1.cgi?SESSION_ID=&CUSTOMER_ID=&marketing=Survivor of debt, redundancy, endowment scams, share crashes, sky-high inflation, lousy financial advice, and multiple house price booms. Comfortably retired after learning to back my own judgement.
This is not advice - hopefully it's common sense..0
