Help with a SNAD

I recently purchased some items from ebay. I am a new ebay user so not sure what to do. I received some of the items, but on one of the items, the item is not as described. What do I do?
Do I contact the seller first before raising a claim for SNAD?
What happens if I don't receive a reply from the seller in the next few days-I mean how long do I wait for the seller to respond?
Do I raise a claim with PayPal or do I raise a claim with eBay?
Any thoughts?

Contact the seller first and give them 3-4 days. If they havnt replied you will need to open a SNAD dispute with Paypal. That will probably get you a response from the seller.0

However, this does not stop the seller from providing a positive with a negative feedback on me? And also, stating in the neutral/negative comment that I leave saying I am a liar? (unless this gets sorted so I give them a positive).
Also, should I email them after some of my items have ended? Or should I email them now, but block them from my listings?0 -

I really wouldn't be concerned about feedback at this stage. The seller can only leave you a positive, and a positive is a positive, if you did feel that any positive was actually 'negative' in tone ebay will remove it as it breaches their policy.
It is always best to have seperate accounts for buying and selling BTW, but as you don't I think it best to block the selelr from buying anything from you, just in case.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. However, the point is that the user has less than 20 feedback, been registered for a few years, low account activity, but also has my address details/personal information, whereas I have a lower feedback. Might the seller win an ebay/Paypal claim?
Also, it does not stop the seller from registering under a different account name purely to bid, then leave negative feedback at a later date (even though another item I might sell in a years time might be described correctly)?
Sorry but I am pessimistic about ebay now. Should have bought from sellers who have higher feedback.0 -
I wouldn't worry too much just yet - wait and see what the seller says. It's unlikely that they would care enough to try and bid on your item - especially in a years time!Baby Boy arrived March 25th 2010 - 17 days late & 8lb 10oz :j0

Hi. I have sent the seller an email, have waited a few days and no response. What is the next stage please?
I am a new ebay buyer, so would there be any chance that ebay/Paypal find in favour of my buyer? I paid via Paypal, so does it make sense I open a Paypal or ebay claim. Item bought on eBay, paid via Paypal. Upon checking, user has less than 50 feedback.0 -
Log safely into paypal and then into resolution centre and start a SNAD claim. Your relative time on ebay makes no difference and you are statistically mor elikely to win than the seller. However if paypal do find for you then you will have to return the goods at your own expense before you get a refund.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How do I prove to Paypal that item was SNAD? Is there a Paypal email address that I can email the photo attachments of the item to?
And what do I put on Paypal claim? Sorry I haven't done this before.0 -
Just open the claim and give a description as to why the item is SNAD. You do also get the opportunity (if you can find it..they hide it away) of uploading files if a photo would help.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
