Income Support Overpay ?

I got a letter from income support today from the post at 7:20am and they had apology to me for incorrect about my working tax credit as they had found out now that I don't get any WTC now on their system up to dates.

It say on the letter that I had been award and entitled to Income Support start from Monday, 27th October with a payment of £149.30 to my bank account and then there after every week usually paid on the monday to my bank account of £149.30 per week until April 2009.

I thought it should be £136.70 per week for my lone parent, a child living with me and I also got DLA middle rate of care. I don't have any carer allowance. How come it paid me £149.30 a week (increase of £12.60 a week extra)

Shall I report IS of my overpay ?

Maybe it work out £149.30 per week because of my CTC reason of being down to £139.83 from £202.16 every 4 weeks until April 2009.

That's probably the main reason of why IS paid me extra £12.60 a week on top of my normal IS rate of £136.70 per week.
  • Do you get middle or higher rate dla? If it is higher than would be the reason as i think you get an extra £11 or £12 enhanced disability premium if not you should get a breakdown with the letter telling you want each amount is you are intitled to.
  • Ment to say check the breakdown to see that it is correct as any overpayment you will have to pay back.
