Simple Parking Fine Appeal Query (or is it?)
The joys of living in Camden....
My sister in law came over yesterday, and we used one of those 'scratch off the dates' visitors parking permits as we always do.
However, completely wrongly we scratched out:
"Wednesday 21st October 14:00"
When in fact the correct date was:
"Wednesday 22nd October 14:00"
So of course she was hit by a £120 parking ticket (reduced by 50% if paid in 14 days).
It's just a horrible accident and the consequences are massive, we will struggle to pay that (we'll have to pay it as she was round doing us a favour!).
Do we have any possibilities of success in appealing? What approach should we take as we will obviously appeal anyway? I presume that requesting 'clemency' would receive short shrift.
Any suggestions welcome.

If it's a council issued ticket (which I am guessing it is?) just pay up before it becomes £120. If issued by a private company ignore it and make no contact with them.
Why should you have to pay it? Up to her to make sure she's properly parked and displaying permits as required. Can't blame you just because she was doing you a favour.
Do give pepipoo.com forums a try as well though as they're experts on this sort of thing.0 -

Thanks - it is a council issued ticket (was outside our house).
We will have to pay - we even scratched and put the permit in the car for her! Nothing makes you feel worse than parking ticket charges when you don't own a car!
And i'll have a crack at those forums - thanks for the recommendation.
Any other suggestions welcome!0
