How safe is Egg on-line?

I agree that mother's maiden name/place of birth etc are daft, but do they actually use these in their own validation of who you are? If not, couldn't you use grandmother's maiden name or sister's married name or something else more random. Something you'll still remember, but not just the same old formulaic questions?0

That's a good tip and one which I may well use in the future. Unfortunately for me I can't now change that in Egg. I gave the info to them many years ago and it can't be changed, even if I stop the account. As the old Eagles (Eggles?) song (nearly) goes...Thanks for your post.
