Price difference on rail tickets?
My daughter is planning to go to Aberystwyth to visit a friend at Uni, we've checked routes and prices - from Stoke to Aberystwyth, changing at Wolverhampton it's £38 return!
From Crewe to Aberystwyth, changing at Shrewsbury, it's £20 return - that's a hell of a difference.
Is there a way of getting cheaper travel from Stoke as it's our nearest station?

Try breaking the journey down, either Stoke-Crewe for a tenner then add the £20 to Aberystwyth or Stoke-Wolverhampton for £12:50 then add £17:70 to Aberystwyth or Stoke-Shrewsbury £14:40 add Shrews-Aber £13:70. Probably other options Birmingham, Manchester just a matter of clicking round the various options.
The £20 fare is restricted to the train booked whereas the others are valid on most off peak trains.0
