Wonder why these are only ever based on

    a. Income Support
    b. JSA
    c. Guaranteed pension credit.

surely there are more people who are on low incomes
ie incapacity benefit, long or short term.etc.

    does anybody actually know?
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • i have just checked out he terms and conditions and it seems to read that if you go over the allowance of 1.50 a month calls are then charged at 10p per minute rather than 4p a minute on the standard rate. Also couldn't see if you get free evening and weekend calls.

It might be a good deal if you don't use the phone often, but I like to keeo in touch with family and friends in the evening, so I'm sticking with free evening and weekend deals
    back to comping
  • I did ring at the weekend but if you get free weekend/evening calls then its not a saving as the call charges are so high if you go over the £1.50 limit.
I think it would be a good offer if you are a light/low phone user.

IMHO the new BT Basic system is unfair because now fewer people can get it. Before anyone who seldom used their phone could get it now you need to be one of the lucky ones on a certain benefit.

We don't have a landline, just two pay-as-you-go mobile phones and a 3 mobile broadband connection and it is working out a lot cheaper for us. :T
