Just got back from court- was made BR as of 10.30 this morning :j :j :j and it was suprisingly painless!!
Nearly didn't get there though- decided to leave at 8 this morning to give us plenty of time in morning traffic (it normally a 40 min drive, appointment was at 9.30), got up early to make copies of my forms and the printer decided to have a bit of fun so it took about an hour then OH tells me he needs to get diesel before we can drive anywhere!! In the end we left at 9, got into Luton at 9.30, got stuck in a 1-way system that the sat nav didn't know about so i decided to get out of the car and make a run for it- got completely lost and asked a traffic warden for directions. He directed me to the crown court!!!! Finally got there at 9.45 (went to the wrong floor as well) but everything went very smoothly from there.
The staff were so nice and i didn't have to see the judge.
Thank you everyone who has given me advice and luck over these difficult months xxx I would've got mad without you all xx
Can't wait to get the OR's interview over and done with so my brain can relax, lol. Should i inform my creditors of my BR or wait until after my OR interview?

Well done! BR and exercise in one day (LOL)
Do you want to tell your creditors?? Maxmycardagain wrote to each of them with a copy of the BR notice and heard nothing from anyone. I only had a small issue with one - mind you, Halifax actually sent me a statement yesterday for the first time in years with threatening action... Your OR will write to them in time, so you could do nothing or a bit of self empowerment never hurt anyone and you could write yourself anyway. This bit is up to you.0 -
Well done, MummyHol. Sprinting in a pencil skirt should be an olympic sport. Are your creditors of the phone-twice-daily variety? If so, you may find it oddly enjoyable to tell them over the phone next time they call. They'll need the BR order number etc. Most of the ones I spoke to when I did it were very nice about it. Only one stinker.

Hi everyone
I was 20 minutes earlier than you mummy 10.10 am, was certainly not half as bad as expected even the judge wished us all the best for a brighter future. Had to hang around for 2 hours waiting for call from official receivers office but they were helpful as well. Hope the interview is just as easy we will wait and see.
Will keep you informed,
Andy

Well done MummyHol and Faillteandy..what a name Andy!! ha ha
This one made me laugh.. running getting lost, traffic wardens, boy you had a day of it..
On the creditors, well it gave me so much pleasure last night to finally get thru to one who has made my life sheer hell.. and they kept calling me MR, that made me mighty cross, and then had the cheek to ask me to send a copy of my BO, I said NO you deal with my OR he will contact you soon enough, but you back off off me now!
Poor guy, he went away when I said I was BR, first he said you are thinking of it... I said NO I was made it at 10am this morning (which was yesterday by the way)! he said OH dear hold ON.. .. hold on.. yes matey I will hold on to get you mobsters off my back and my house wrapped up like fort knox...
So up to you, the OR will tell them all anyway.
Andy I love your last line... as my god how very true that line is.Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -

OMG....I got lost in the Luton one way system last year...trying to find an aptly named `Calamity Green`!!!! (if you live there you will know!!!!).....ended up somewhere between the M1 J9-J10 roadworks & the airport!!!!
Anyway MH....well done today & glad you made it eventually....smart but ever so slightly out of breath I guess.
Hope you can relax this evening.

Its now so easy to pick up the phone when it rings knowing it does not matter who is calling . Spoke to most of my creditors yesterday every one ok my bank manager said she was very sorry to hear what had happened but she has thought for a while that either my financial situation was going to collapse or my health, she is pleeased that it was financial. You also find out who your real friends are in this situation. Just listening to the news and the goverment has confirmed we are now in reccession, I think Gordon Brown should have joined our forum we all knew long before him.
Catch you all later
Andy
