Pigsback.com have removed the 10 PiggyPoints for every correct entry from the Spotlight quiz, however across the whole site members will be able to earn more PiggyPoints than before.

We plan to offer more 10 PiggyPoint featured offers, more PiggyPoints for participation with partner sites and offers, and a greater range of competitions and offers to make the site more enjoyable.

Thanks again for your mail however, we do appreciate the feedback and please let me know if you have any further comments.

    Kind Regards,

I have now seen the above Pigsback email response a couple of times today.

So, they "plan to offer more 10 PiggyPoint featured offers, more PiggyPoints for participation with partner sites and offers, and a greater range of competitions and offers to make the site more enjoyable" - sounds good to me!

Might mean it will be a tad more laborious - or should I say intellectually more stimulating - to collect 10-pointers, but if all of above is true, and Darragh answers the questions Kazzea has pulled together satisfactorily, I think there's a chance Pigsback might become my favourite shopping portal, after all.

I've been through the hundred plus pages on the 3 threads and formulated (and sent) an email of questions. I can tell I'm going to get slated for doing it but let me please say this.

Firstly, I don't care about getting thanked or rewarded. Secondly I did it because I'm used to doing stuff like that (ran 2 massive cosmetic forums for UK and USA for 2 years single handedly sorting the very busy forums) and thirdly I had nothing better to do, so I thought I'd get it done and sent.

Hope no one is narked, at least it's done and on it's way to Darragh.

  • Binxy, that was good of you.
i think its good that someone could do what Darragh asked instead of direct more abuse at him. i know you'r not that intrested, but i'm gonna press the thanks button anyway. good to see that there are some people talking sense out there

we all apprecciate you taking the time and effort to do this for us. If it gets some results from PB or answers from Darragh, then it's been worth it.

    thanks!
  • Thanks Binxy, any chance of posting the email on the forum?

    Ditto all of the above.

  • Maybe we should thank Darraghs post to show our appreciation...? I too reckon he's a brave man for bothering to come back after the hard time he's been given...he's only one man...if he sits here trawling through these seemingly neverending threads then he'll never have time to reply/do something about it!

Thank you to Binxy also. Not aimed at anyone in particular but it's nice to see action rather than just words.

Has anyone mentioned the fact that Pb just go ahead and "change the rules of Engagement" without telling anyone. Although it is their site, itdistinctly lacks any current news items and updates leaving many people peeved off when things disappear without any foreknowledge. A suggestion that i have if anyone wants to comment is to divide the pb points into at least 2 groups. The first earned through actual purchases and the second through free bonus points. Then only allow redemptions with a maximum for example of say 40% free points

Darragh - can I just point out that you seem to think that questions posted on Pigsbacks own forum get answered - well THEY DON'T - on the occasions that they do it is usually a week or so later - replies are only ever posted quickert than that if someone from Pigsback happens to be on the forum. The forum itself is extremely slow to load in the first place to get into and that stupid scrolling banner at the start of whats new covers things that are weeks or months out of date (and I find the whole thing completely pointless). Also the pigsback forum only seems to let one user per computer register to post on it therefore only one member of my family is registered and can actually post. Oh and I PHONED Pigsback yesterday morning and was told to expect a call back shortly - well funnily enough still no phone call - so if Pigsback do not even return phone calls what confidence do any of us have in Pigsback replying to emails???. Honestly - if Pigsback could sort out just ONE thing (obviously apart from points earning opportunities) then it should be to sort out their email system. This would reduce the number of negative posts immensely as people could actually rely on a reply from Pigsback rather then having to ask other people their opinion or slate Pigsback in a public forum.

On a business note (not as a user)
I honestly don't know why you don't change the questions to get 10 points if you get it correct FIRST time or even have 3 questions that you had to get them all right on that one shot to get the points. You could also perhaps not let people cash in their points until they have bought something through Pigsback - this way if people wanted to they could just build their points total up but would have to have bought something at least once before cashing out. This would also reduce people cashing in as soon as they reach the minimum number of points for vouchers etc and perhaps reduce the massive requests at the same time for these items. Obviously if these changes were made it would be nice to put back some points for answering questions or answering a poll etc
