I just fixed the same problem with our B&Q bathroom by replacing the washer.
I opened up the cistern to see the washer I need but B&Q didnt have what I needed in the correct size. I ended up buying the washer on ebay for £2.50 ..... The only other place that I found to supply the washer wanted £17 (delivered) for it!!
Thanks for the tip

Just wanted to update you all on this one. . .
problem was the diaphragm (tiny hole which you could only just see if you held it up against the light and looked hard for!), replacement was £1.35 from local plumbers merchant.
Thanks again for all replies.0
