Re: BT can you ring them and request that the phone is switched to incoming calls only, whilst you pay off any arrears. This way you will only be paying your quartley line rental but can still have your broadband as it dials a freephone number you dont need outgoing calls for this.
If you do need to make calls see other boards on ways of making free calls through your broadband and internet connection.
Did that and yes BT have stopped me phoning out and accepted my offer of £10 a week, i still get my broadband which is a relief.

Hi Kimberley
First with BT - call them again and offer the £10 per week - that's £43 per month and with a debt of only £132 they are being unfair and unreasonable. Ask them what they want and see if you can come to a compromise and explain that you are flat broke but say its only a temporary situation. I hate BT too - they argued with me over £13 - £10 of which I owed them due to them not updating my new address correctly and £3 "admin fee" - which I forced them to take off as it was totally random!
Phone Abbey Head Office on 08706076000 and ask to speak to someone who can help with a problem - and explain that you have no ability to pay back the overdraft AND the excess charges and could you come to some arrangement. This worked for me when I was £3900 OD and we arranged for me to pay £50 pcm + £20 or whatever it was interest. I had to surrender my debit card but I got a cash card - and with a smaller debt you won't have to pay £50 - maybe more like £25 a month or something - but negotiate and explain ALL - Tell BT for example about Abbey and vice versa. Bore them - moan - cry if you have to (!) but make them realise you're not being lazy or trying it on, you're just broke and need their HELP to get you out of the mess NOT more charges..... If you drop me PMessage I'll give you the name of a really helpful person at Abbey at their direct line - they really listened and helped but I better not put it on the board or they might get swamped with calls!
How much do you get per week/month IN? Make them realise by just talking, it WILL take your time, maybe several calls - maybe up to an hour on the phone which with children I realise will be hard - but they should realise that you're making the effort and you know what - keep on at them showing you're trying, cause you are and they should appreciate your efforts!!
Best of luck - its so sh*t to be in these messes, and it has taken time and screaming and tears on my part - but Abbey just offered me £250 in compensation as they screwed so much up - so persistance is the key if you can keep it up!
Try not to be down - fight the B*STARDS !!!!!!!!!!!
Peachy£35K+ debt at its worst
