More debt creeping up..

I already have sent my Court claim form with my defence. Now i've got a BT reminder saying they want £132 that i owe and the £10 a week i offered to pay they won't accept. Meaning i will have my service suspended and broadband disconnected. I told BT that even if they cut me off i'd still only be able to pay £10 a week

Also i got a letter this morning from Abbey rejecting my £1 month offer to repay my overdraft of £730, my limit is £750. They say they will now add £20 a month in the unautherized overdraft limit, so it wouldn't even be worth paying any off my arrears when the money i can afford to pay will not even cover this extra £20

All this on top of Xmas, i'm a single mum with 3 kids, i'm already depressed, but just cannot afford to pay BT and Abbey before Xmas

I've written letters including sending my budget sheet but still they want to put me deeper in depressing :( I've told them i'm depressed but they want their money ..

Any advice

Go to the CAB or call one of the free helplines; hopefully they can help you to negotiate something.

    Hugs,
    Jules
The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.

I'll have a look $17mma, i'll certainly write to Abbey to reconsider my offer and freeze interest. I mean in 6 months my debt will rise by £120 in just interest..I just cannot pay it, i'm hoping that now i've submitted my Court Claim letter i can get the CCJ quickly and offer on an Admin Order of paying £25 a month between all my creditors. I wouldn't have to worry about getting letters and phone calls then.

I had written you a reply and then boards went all funny and got kicked off..

If you need help with letters or are not sure with wording then just post them and everyone can give their feedback so that we can ensure it is tweaked for maximum affect.

I totally agree with you re the admin order, they will be unable to contact you as long as you make your monthly payments and wont be able to threaten you either. Make sure you stick to a monthly amount you can afford and are comfortable with and don't stretch yourself. This will mess up your credit for a while but at least it will give you time to get yourself together and will keep them off your back.

And make sure you list abosultely everything in the Admin Order. Dont leave anything off.

Good luck fleur and let us know how you are getting on.;)

Just seen something in your original post

Re: BT can you ring them and request that the phone is switched to incoming calls only, whilst you pay off any arrears. This way you will only be paying your quartley line rental but can still have your broadband as it dials a freephone number you dont need outgoing calls for this.

If you do need to make calls see other boards on ways of making free calls through your broadband and internet connection.

How much do you pay BT for broadband? I use virgin and we have a BT line that is incoming only as we have good tariffs on our mobiles but we still get broadband with Virgin on our BT line.
