Can anyone point me in the right direction please. I've been sublet a flat through a letting agency for the past 18 months only because i couldnt sell it 18 months ago. The recent tennant has moved out and the agency are in the process of find a new tenant. I have now change my mind and no longer want to use the agency but they are saying there is a £250 fee to cancel a contract i signed back 16/02/07.
Does this sound right? Any advice on this matter would be appreciated.
Cheers

Don't you have a copy of the signed contract, if not, ask them to supply you with a copymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Yes i have a copy. There's a lot of legal jargon on it though.

i thought there would be but can you find anything that says anything about £250?make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Personally i think they are trying it on.
Even if the is something in the contract(which i doubt the would be) then i would do this
Ring them up, tell them your not paying anything to cancel the contact and if they dont like this to sue you. I very much doubt you would hear from them again! For everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Teddy it's doubtful they would pursue you for the £250, if the original document was in 2007, 18 months old, and doesn't mention a cancelation fee. They are just threatening as they don't want to lose your business.MFW #185
