This is all I need just before christmas and the school holidays!!!! My TV was working fine last night, I left it on standby last night ( i know i know not very moneysaving) and now it wont turn back on.
I have changed the batteries in the remote and stuff. Switched it off from teh mains for an hour and turned it back on but nothing.
Is it worth having it fixed or not???? Its a JVC 28inch widescreen tv (if you needed to know that)
Thanks in advance.

Poor divadee.............I'm pleased your television is working again.
Would it be worth getting your remote repaired, rather than buying a new one? It might be a cheaper option.
We took our remote for repair when it failed the drop test (dropped too many times) and it's working perfectly again.;)10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
well done.......
a few years back our lovely old phillips tv blew about this time..... had to buy a new one which touch wood is working fine.... although it did sem a little ropey early in the year , cos i had the problem where the on/off button wouldnt switch of....... so it was permantenly on standby...... that problem solved it self.... then mid november very loud crackling noise coming from the inbuilt speakers..... the gremlins seemd to have gone for now... but was worried that we would ave to replace that......
what with the dish washer having to be replaced (more expensive than repairing - but previous horror stories and costs of repairing had put me off ) anyway got it on 6 months interest free (7 actually cos the direct debit dosent start until jan)
then the main car had its mot yesterday...... fortuntely it passed/////smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

It's worth just unscrewing your remote to see if it is anything obvious that is not right. Even a complete technophobe can spot a straggling wire that is hanging loose. It might be worth it for the 2 mins it'll take to undo a couple of screws! It wasn't me.............it was the one armed man!0

Hi,
I don't suppose it can be operated manually by buttons, would last you until after Xmas when prices are suppose to fall.
