The petition was probably started by a schoolboy (or schoolgirl) troll.
It is bad enough when one website is hijacked by foul-mouthed scum without people on here repeating it to a wider audience.

Oh come GG, its just a bit of fun, the petition was started by someone on singing pig wanting a government bailout for BTL'rs, such a ridiculous ask deserves all it gets.
BTL is a gamble, simple, some people are going to lose heavily and to be honest I have no sympathy for them, I do, however have sympathy for their tenants who going to get screwed because of their LL's greed.
And to NDG's question about Vanessa Warwick, she used to be a presenter on MTV's headbangers ball a few years ago, she got into property about 5 years ago, so has no idea other than prices only go up. A bit dumb really0 -

The real tradgedy is this is messing with peoples lives. Not the BTLs, no sympathy whatsoever, but the poor souls that have to rent from them. They will be the ones kicked out when the landlord goes bust. Probally not get their deposits back. How can a couple get on with their lives, raising a family in a secure setting when they are threatened with being kicked out at anytime.
I find the whole situatuion disgusting. To think that we had a fantastic social housing program that worked for a long while trashed by the !!!!! Thatcher. Loads of folks, including my wife, was born and raised in decent LA housing. Fair rents and maintainance. The very same people now would be subject to some landlord who possibly got the figures wrong and expect the government/ tenant, to bail them out.
I think it is quite within the realms of credible thinking that the Nu Labour gang of cowboys will come up with a package to ease the grief of the BTLer. What would they do with all the homeless?0 -
