we want to rent somewhere snowy for Christmas

Hi guys

My family have been fantasising about forgetting presents this christmas and renting a chalet or lodge somewhere it'll snow (as much as that's reliable!). Definitely self-catering rather than a hotel, and for a few people (about 6). We're not sure where this would be cheapest (Iceland?!?!? Well - they've got to need the cash) or the most Christmas-y.

Any ideas???

Hi, I went to Finnish Lapland for Christmas 2 years ago, it was amazing. Knee Deep Snow and about as Christmassy as it gets! We went skiing most days and took trips on a Snow mobile to the Ice Hotel, Husky sleds etc It was an unforgettable action packed holiday. We stayed in a log cabin in the middle of the woods - perfect setting and the cabin even had a Sauna!

Its not the cheapest destination for christmas but well worth the extra pennies! Have a look at Inghams or Neilson they have better deals for 7 nights rather than a short break.

Bit late now cos they get booked up months in advance, but every other year we book a cottage in the middle of nowhere and hibernate for a week with a real fire and lots of snow ;)

we went to finnish lapland a couple of years ago & it was brilliant but very very cold - minus 32 on the first morning! you can go husky sledging, reindeer sledging, snowmobiling or see Santa as well as sking both downhill & cross country. Alcohol is very expensive so if you have room after you have packed all the clothes you need take a wine box or 2 with you
