Hi Kaatie,
Well done you for taking the 1st step on this journey. I started mine in June and things are not too bad. There are loads of very helpful & experienced people on here that will probably be able to answer anything you can throw at them.
Good luck.

Hi hun and welcome to the forums and MSE. I too was scared when i first started out on here. Its like one big family now though. Keep posting and tell us a bit about yourself and what we can do to help you. We have all been newbies so we know what it is like. We have a daily chat thread that is for all and everyone for general chit chat and a hug or two if they are needed. And they are a lovely bunch of people on there. Then we have a nightowl thread for those who are still awake for whatever reason. Sometimes both threads get very busy and can move quickly. But just jump in and say hi. Join in. Sometimes if the threads move fast you can lose wherere you are with it. But it wont take you long to catch up. If you have debts then ask any question you like on this thread and peeps will come in and help you all they can.
Keep posting chick and again. Welcome

Just joined this site...I have just finished off paying some default debts and now have three credit cards which are paid every month. I was in £42000 of debt and now reduced it to £12,000. I was rewarded by MBNA increasing my interest rate from 19.9% to 36% and Egg increasing it from 16% to 26.9%. The worst thing is that they are allowed to do it...very depressed as I have £5000 on the MBNA card and £3600 on the Egg card. Hey ho...0

The one piece of advice i'd like to share is start with a spending diary.
I used to withdraw the equivalent of £50/week - a tenner here and there - and had NOTHING to show for it.
I also doubted that a spending diary would do anything for me..but once i ensured i'd written down what i was buying; this has gone down to a tenner a week! I save the rest....CC1: [strike]1,500[/strike] CC2:[strike]£830[/strike] Vanquis [strike]£1500[/strike] £2000 left
S.Elec: [strike]£258[/strike] £ 0
CT [strike]1734.52[/strike] £ 0
Ebay £ 10.00 /MystShop £ 17.00/Quidco £ 0 so far!0 -
Hi and welcome to you too moneymuppet. the best advice i can give you both is to do an SOA, statement of affairs. And each put it on your own threads. That is all your outgoings and whatever you have coming in. That way the lovely peeps on here will be able to see where they can give you help on saving or cutting down on things. And a spending diary is good as well. You will be really shocked at what you actually spend your money on.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have done that and it is under control, but recently with everything going up plus the added interest payments, it is getting harder. I will re-look at everything though.0

thats a good idea MM. Have you actually posted one on here though. Honestly if you do and the folk on here will be able to look at it with fresh eyes. You may find they find things in your SOA that you may have missed or be able to help you reduce a bit more. If you start your own thread then we will be able to give you a bit more advice and support. You are in the right place now and the only way is up. xxxxxxxxxxxxNight Owl Member No 1 :rotfl: :rotfl:
