Sheffield Arena from MAN or LBA

Hello,

This may be a really stupid question, but if I want to get to Sheffield Arena is it easier from Leeds Bradford airport or Manchester airport?

I'd prefer to use public transport if possible rather than hire a car.

It seems cheaper (and quicker and less hassle) to fly from Exeter (where I live) to LBA or MAN and then get to Sheffield from there, rather than drive or train it.

Or am I deluded

On public transport it would be easier from Manchester.

You could get a train from Manchester airport to Sheffield and then a tram from Sheffield station to the arena.

It would be quite a lengthy journey time though (I appreciate the drive from Exeter would be too). Is the cost of train from Exeter a lot more?

From LBA you would have to get a bus to Leeds and then a train to Sheffield or Meadowhall and then a tram/ train to the arena.

It's too soon to get a price for the train yet but based on the same days the month before, it is £177 for two of us :eek: whereas we can fly for £100. Plus I live a mile from the airport, but the other side of Exeter from the train station so it's easier and cheaper to get to the airport. It does seem a bit wrong to fly though, environmentally but as it's just for one night I want to get there as quickly as possible.
