MS AntiSpyware probs

Anybody else having problems with the update function on MS AntiSpyware?
It usually works fine but today and yesterday when I go to file then update it says that update has failed as it could not detect an internet connection (when an internet connection is present)

It's also happening on my gf's PC.

MSN/Microsoft sites have been suffering from denial of Service attacks for the last couple of weeks , you may have noticed problems with hotmail some nights as well

    MSAS Autoupdate Error

If you have received the following error while trying to update your definitions, it appears to be a widespread problem.

"Warning! could not connect to the internet"
"Updates have failed. Autoupdates could not detect an internet connection"

According to Microsoft, it is a SERVER ERROR and not one with the system or application. When the update goes out to search, it cannot reach a server and the warning is the application automatically assuming that you do not have an Internet Connection.
