New fuse board

Can anyone offer a ball park figure for a new fuse board supplied and fitted by a qualified electrician?

I was charged £180 for supply, fitting and test of a 12 circuit consumer unit. The board was the same as one in Screwfix which is around £80 with the various RCDs.

The electrican tested every circuit he was adding to the board (ring continuity, impedance, trip time I think he did, and also visual inspections of a selection of sockets, switches and junction boxes) and I received the part P paperwork in the post.

This also included the testing and adding of two previously unconnected circuits (shower - I had disconnected the one the previous electrician installed as the cable he selected was not up to the job and got hot when the shower was used - complaints to the various trade bodies got nowhere but thats a different story - and instead I had put in a much beefier cable, and a smoke alarm circuit I had added).

i had a new distribution board supplied and fitted (and various light fittings fitted and a new bathroom extract fan supplied and fitted) total £260.
