i suffer from fibromyalgia and have DLA - high care for mobility and I have just found out from a neighbour that I can go through the Mersey Tunnel in Birkenhead to Liverpool or the Wallasey Tunnel to Liverpool free of charge.
How?? well I had to get a form from the Mersey Tunnels in Birkenhead and send off a proof of DLA and my Free Car Tax form that I get for having Hight Rate DLA, 2 pictures and my Blue Badge for parking and lastly my vehicle registration document because it is only valid for 1 car.
It took about a week and I got a FAST TAG plastic fob thing through that fits on my car windscreen and it is valid i think for 1 year and they renew it once you prove you still get the benefit.
I have been really poorly for over 10 years now and this is the first I have heard of this - so if this can help even one person then I am happy.... It will save £1.30 each way each time you go to liverpool - with petrol and parking it made an expensive day out.
Any problems and you can contact me through here.
Good luck sappersmum
