Boiler Recommendation
Comments

Hi there,
My parents at the moment have a very old system and they are spending a fortune on gas. I have been quoted about £1600 for a Worcester-Bosch (excluding fitting) from a cousin of mine. Now I have been looking at the Alpha CD35C Combination which I can get off the internet for less than £900. You seem to rate the Alpha's and I am very tempted to go for one of these and the money saved could go towards the fitting costs + flue pipe/fittings etc.
Regards
Dan
You may find the savings in gas consumption are far less than you expect. Payback will take many years and may never happen when you take into account the capital expenditure and the loss of interest on the capital that you "invest". I would never recommend changing a boiler to save money. If you want to be "green" fine but there is a big difference between saving energy and saving money.0 -
I am a joiner not a plumber but i work alongside the plumbers and are good mates with them...... now i needed a new boiler so i asked them which was the best and every time came back the answer Baxi 105 instant... they got me one and fitted it and i have never looked back....0

I have had a Ferroli Modena 80e in my flat for 9 years.
Not a single problem with it.
When I broke one of the knobs off the control panel and lost the case screws, they send them free of charge.
Customer service was brilliant with me.0 -
Speaking to plumber/BG friends, worcester bosch and vaillant are the best brands, but they are top end of the market. For a good value boiler, Glow-worm comes highly recommended.

Agree with you 100%. Their customer service is appalling. I wrote to senior management including the MD but was fobbed off. The boiler broke down after 18 months and cost over £300 to fix. If anyone ever mentions Ferroli, I always tell them to avoid having them installed.0
