Which store to do grocery shop online?

I can't get to the supermarket (haven't been for weeks in fact) so I am going to do it online tonight or tomorrow, are there any free delievery codes about?

I found one for Asda on HUKD but although its not expired people seem to be having trouble with it, I don't want to do my whole shop then not have the code accepted. (Its my first time so I'll also go through Quidco) Same for Tescos.

I do have some vouchers for Asda too so it would be handy to do my shop there but I collect Nectar and Clubcard points too so maybe Sainsburys or Tesco.

Thanks

You choose a store, book your delivery slot then do your shop. As you add stuff to your basket it tell you how much the shop would be in the other supermarkets. You can even check the individual price of something at other stores. At the end you can swap supermarkets as well!

    Well recomended

I did my online shopping with Tesco and Asda at the weekend. I usually just use Tesco (for the points!) but Asda seemed to have some great reductions so I opened grocery shopping pages on them both and flicked between the two, checking prices of everything on both sites and adding cheapest to my baskets. It took a little longer than normal but I saved a fortune.

I got a free delivery code for Asda and used a £9 money off code for Tesco - there seems to be quite a few codes available particularly for Tesco.

Do u have somerfield near you ? you can get free delivery if you spend 25pound in store just fill in a form and your given a card to book a date for your delivery of shopping gonna try it out, otherwise if not try sainsburys online spend 40pound get free delivery
  • I always use tesco, find them very reliable and there are always codes a round making delivery free plus usually a few pounds off on top of that as well.
  • I just did my first online supermarket shop using an 15% off Ocado coupon emailed to me.

One question which may sound naive, are you expected to 'tip' the delivery man?
  • Thanks so much for all the responses on this, my internet was down last night so I couln't get on here and couldn't do my shop but I'll do it today, thanks :)

Stephenbw - no I don't think you are expected to 'tip' the delivery man (well I certainly never do)

choccyface2006 - another vote for 'mysupermarket' and as hollydays points out sign up to ipoints. also search the net for voucher codes (hotdealsuk is quite good along with this site)

Hi all - I've been stuck at home for a few years and have used the online supermarkets a lot. I haven't used mysupermarket yet, but might take a look. I have found that Ocado packers seem to enjoy putting salad under tins of soup for some reason and fresh produce seems to be slightly over chilled from Tesco. But I guess it's like any shop - there are some you use a lot and some you use only occasionally (Waitrose crème caramel for example - only available at Waitrose, low cal but big flavour, can't live without it).

I think Martin would agree with me on this one - I do make a point of complaining if something is wrong. All the online supermarket phone numbers are here if you need them. You'll always get a refund and I get the impression that the companies like Tesco and Waitrose really want the feedback. Ocado recently changed the way they pack (apparently) to try and improved the flat lettuce issue based on feedback. So do let them know - the upside is that you won't end up paying for split or damaged items.

Hope that helps - glad I posted - will try and chip in more often.
