Conflicting advice re fiting fire

Any gas engineer worth his salt could quote for the full job as the surround is simply a piece of ancillary equipment to the fire.0

It's in and looks good. They didn't wash it down as there were a couple of chips out of it which they have tried to repair for me, so those areas have to harden in.
Lass, if the chips (one was a large chunk) don't turn out very well, is there anything I can do? Are there professionls who can do it, similar to a french polisher fixing a chunk out a table?0 -
To be honest Lally, it's one of these things that happens. Limestone is actually often 'shored up' with extra materials and this shouldn't been seen as a fault as such - although if the devils chipped in whilst fitting, give them a slap! On a serious note, our suppliers usually send through little filler packs - basically consists of limestone dust which can be mixed and used to fill any cracks or chips. I honestly don't know what the dust is mixed with though, I'll see if I can find out from one of the installers tomorrow and come back to you.0
