Supplier never updated Electric/Gas Meter
Options
Ever since I'm with my new Supplier Ebico they never updated my meters.
There have been at least 2 price increases since I've been with them.
Do they not have to physically access the meter ?
I spoke to my neighbour who lives alone - same size flat & pays 1£/day.
Me and my wife pay about 0.5£/day.
He's on a key meter & we still have the old card meter.
I'm just worried that they overlooked our meter & we have to pay a huge bill soon!

Depending on the type of meter you have, then they usually update the rate in accordance with their latest tariff whenever you charge up your card/top-up your meter, although some of the older meters do need to be manually altered at the meter by the supplier.
If you are at all worried, and you appear to be so, why not give them a call? You can call them free from a BT landline on 0800 096 6344. They are extremely helpful usually."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
You say you have an 'old card meter' do you mean one that uses a plastic credit card type device to purchase credit which is then inserted into the meter or a card used to buy tokens? If it is the latter they have to visit to charge the price. All suppliers are also supposed to be getting these meters replaced asap. If you have the 13 digit MPAN number from your bill/statement (bottom line of S number) and want to post it or PM it to me I can check on the central register to see the type of meter.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
