Kettle - Elec v gas

Options
Hello
Just wondering - do you think I would save (anything) using a kettle on the cooker rather than an electric one? Must admit a hankering for a whistling kettle (I know I need to get out more). Thanks....

Hi there; I have a whistling kettle on my Rayburn, too :j I've done a search, and there are several threads on this subject on the Gas and Electicity board. The most recent is here :D

I'll move your thread over and it may be merged.

I think the other threads reckoned there's not much in it. Elec quicker and more efficient, gas slower and heat lost in the room (all to the good, methinks) but costing about the same because gas is cheaper.

Enough of that - you must have a whistling kettle. They look good and you'll not boil the kettle, walk away and have to switch it on again. Therefore a moneysaver. Well, that was my excuse!
