I've been a lifelong windows-er until recently, and love the image resizing powertoy for windows, but can't find a decent, free alternative for my mac.
I've tried one (Rapidoresizer) but tbh it's a bit crap, and the output quality is rubbish. I mainly need to resize them to put on facebook, and to email them to friends. Does anyone know of a decent available freebie please?

Many good free OS X image tools listed here: http://web.mac.com/simon_elliott/simon_elliott%40mac.com/Software.html
and here:

SeeShore and Xee are two well known ones, but I've not used them, I'm strictly a Photoshop person
Plus GraphicConverter is one of the most popular, but I think it's trial/shareware not free. Excellent application though.0 -
I have psp and photchop, but want a quick 1 or 2 click resizer that can deal with lots of photos at once. I do have iphoto, but can't find out how to quickly resize a bunch.....0

Photoshop can deal with one or hundreds at once, applying pretty much any sort of command you want to the images, be it resizing, or a complex set of layer commands and filters, search the help for Actions.
However iPhoto can do batches, see here: http://lifehacker.com/software/digital-photos/ask-lifehacker--batch-resize-photos-part-ii-37951.php
It is very easy: In iPhoto, select your photos and from the File menu choose Export. On the File Export tab, under Size, set the width and height under "Scale images no larger than" and then click Export. Choose a folder for your resized exported photos and you're golden.
Else Graphic Converter is your best bet.0 -
Another vote for iPhoto's export function if you are doing a lot of pics. If you don't have the pic in iPhoto, or just want quick & dirty resize for a single photo then simply load the image in Preview (a standard Mac OS app) and click Tools --> Adjust Size0

you could google things for an apple script that will automatically do resizes... once when i was working on a website, i had a script, where i just dropped the image onto, and i resized it to 800x600.... didn't even have to open any software....0
