When I was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2006 I realised that my life insurance policies only just covered my mortgage and would leave nothing else for my children. I have been in remission for 2 years (although I have only just completed my chemo treatment) and would like to take out some "top up" insurance. I appreciate I am going to be a very high risk candidate but would like to know
a) given my circumstances, is taking out additional life insurance a sensible thing to do?
b) are any insurance companies out there who would insure me for a reasonable premium.
c) is it possible to take out a stand alone accidental death policy?
Any advice would be gratefully received

i would go and see a whole of market IFA, they can check with the underwriting departments before submitting an application so they can tell how it would be viewed and with any loading added to the premium0

I'm in remission from breast cancer, I had life insurance but decided I needed to also take out more, after much searching I have managed to to get a Life Insurance policy with Friends Provident the premiums are a little higher but if I survive for a certain amount of years [ can't remember how many ] the premiums drop down again, they will also pay out if I'm diagnosed as terminal at the time of diagnosis.
Hope you manage to find some help and you remain in good health for many years.0
