£75 of your energy bill goes to shareholders.....

.....according to Allan Asher (ex Energywatch chief) on the recent Channel 4 Dispatches programme. This is based on recent research published by the Local Government Association, which found that the energy companies INCREASED their dividends to shareholders in 2007 to the tune of £257 million.

Energy is a commodity. Shareholders don't invest in energy companies for a fun factor, it's an investment that they want a return on.
If you don't like it, eat cold food, get a jumper and some candles.0 -
