Lidl / Targa Home Cinema System 12/12/05

I've never bought anything from Lidl before but am sorely tempted with this £99.99 Home Cinema System .

My obvious worry is that the old 'too good to be true' adage may apply here. Can anyone vouch for this product or Lidl electricals in general ? Many thanks.

Yer would be good value if it was 5.1 surround sound. Looks like its 3.1

£100 for a 5.1 home cinema system isn't a spectacular price - I've seen a Sony kit for the same price in Makro (ex VAT of course). IMHO you'd be better off going to Richer Sounds - they've always got decent kit from manufacturers you've heard of =D

3 Year manufacturer’s warranty - Should be fine.

I think this is the one with combined dvd/vcr player, I picked it up from Lidl a few weeks ago for 69.99. It comes with a sub woofer and 5 additional speakers, and as mentioned the combined dvd/vcr player which also has divx. Considering the spec, and the 3 year warranty, I thought it was an absolute bargain!

It plays Divx files, so it makes it even better. This is good value, but I'm sure they gone by now.

I had a look at it and apart from not having optical-digital-in (for Sky+) it looked pretty good for the price. No good to me tho'
