    I'll be interested in your results. I don't like fondant, so I also wanted to make the harder ones like you find in the shops. One hint I've had is to use egg white or egg white powder. However, the only ones I saw made with this recipe were so soft, they held their form very briefly, then melted into puddles with the red boot-lace tails and dragee eyes floating freely in amongst the mix. It looked like some horrific road kill model. This was a workshop on a school trip to a local museum with a working kitchen, and I was supposed to extract each child's mouse and send it home as a souvenir. To be honest it genuinely typified the trip.

    I'm surprised you can get mice moulds now. Back in the day, the thrill of making these and things like marzipan fruits, flowers etc was all in the hand moulding :p

    They are pretty though :)
