hi annie123,
I used caster sugar, egg white red food coluring (to make them pink!) and a drop of peppermint essence. It's hard to be specific about amounts, cos the size of an egg white varies from egg to egg, as does the moisture content in sugar!
So I beat those together adding enough sugar for it to be a very stiff paste and then pressed it firmly into the moulds. I then had to wait a long time for the egg white to dry out, but then they came easily out of the moulds...:D
Hope you have fun!

I found some v old (but clean and nice) moulds for making sugar mice which had a recipe which it says makes somewhat soft mice. Does anyone have a recipe which I could use to make hardish mice like you buy ?0

Hi morganlefay,
There are some links and a recipe on this thread:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the replies together.

Thanks Pink - it never occurred to me to search for such a 'specialist' recipe. I might have known OSers would have been there before me ! :T0

You can buy the moulds from Lakeland. x0

I found this... my nanny used to make her own fondant. Using it for cream centres, chocolate cherries and mice.
