Just because it's HD ready, doesnt mean you HAVE to have HD tv, it's just a way of future-proofing and having a TV that will be ready to use it when it becomes a bit more widely used.
Are you saying you've bought one that's not compatible now, but was when you bought it
I don't understand.
Possibly one for the vent thread too...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I have an old big tv, can't be bothered keeping up with the latest tvs etc
I can't believe that some new tvs are still sold without digital tuners, though
some people dont want integrated freeview tho
i have digital telly thru cable, dont use analogue at all so when i replace my tv i dont want one with freeview built in (as its a bit more expensive that way)0 -

So you really want a monitor with a built in speaker not a Tv then?
If you moved house though having Freeview would be useful as you may not get cable in the new area. The freeview tuner should add very little to the cost anyhow.0 -

well i dont see the need for a integrated freeview tuner when i wont use it, *if* for some reason i moved outwith a cable house (which is highly unlikely i may add) then i'd bite the bullet and get sky if the freeview box i currently have but dont use stops working
i appreciate there is a massive market for the integrated freeview tv's due to the digital switchover and i do see in the future that the manufacturers go down the route of only making these, however at the present time i dont see why we still cant have the option of buying a tv with or without them its down to choice and at present i'd choose not to have it integrated
offhand i dont have the difference in pricing, however when i bought my mum a lcd at christmas the difference in come cases were about 30quid, which i laughed at considering you could get a freeview box in tesco for a tenner0 -
yes thats what i,m saying i bought a hd ready tv cost 1200 quid 18mths ago now i want to view HD tv and it isnt compatable unless i have a software upgrade at my cost to make it able to watch HD tv :mad:0
