Why do BT now charge £40 or £80 to put your line on? I flick of a switch and this much to pay??
I last moved in 2005 and it did not cost anything and apparently its all changed now as when I phoned TOUCAN TELECOM today to advise our move date, they advised there is now a charge set by BT, even though I pay my call charges and line rental to TOUCAN!
Is this right?

If the line isn't activated at the new property then it will need to be activated.
Have you plugged in a phone to see if there's a dial tone?0
