Cracked Windscreen

Help!!
I have got a cracked the windscreen and it is getting bigger by the day.I do not have fully comp. insurance so i have to pay for it myself.Please advise.

phone autoglass... pay for windscreen.

or upgrade to fully comp insurance and claim in a few days. a windscreen can crack/chip at anytime.

can you upgrade without being questioned? do people do this?

i have no idea but surely its worth a shot. is it long until your renewal?

unless you have an older car (with rubber beaded screen) the screen will be very difficult to change without the aid of a professional.

modern screens tend to break when removed from a vehicle so a scrap one is not really an option.

only renewed last month.so i might say i picked 3rd party by mistake.Car is only worth a grand so i dont want to buy a 400 buck window.

insurance company wouldnt allow me to upgrade unless i got new car.autoglass quoted just under £400, went through yellow pages and got quote for £60. He comes to my house in 1 hrs time.

And we wonder why our insurance is so high, setting aside the slightly dodgy plan for getting it done on insurance. If you had been fully comp it would have cost the insurance £400 but the real cost is £60!!!
