Another silly question

Ok, I'm not asking how long it takes a seller to decide if an offer is reasonable - that is too silly. I know there is no way of guessing how long someone takes to think over things.

Obviously offers that are far too low get a quick response. I think what I am actually trying to work out is if there is a length of time where you can be fairly sure that another offer has been given or the EA has advised that a separate viewing has happened.

Yes I could just phone up and ask, but we gave the offer on Weds pm - so assuming Thurs for contact time taking the weekend to think it over is, in my completely naive opinion  perfectly reasonable. I am thinking ahead to next weekend.

Opinions?

It could be that if other viewings have been booked then the vendor's will wait till then to see if there are any other better offers.

Why not give the estate agent a call tomorrow afternoon if he hasn't got back to you by then to see if he has any news.

Waiting to hear if an offer has been accepted is a stressful time. I usually know as soon as an offer is made if it is acceptable to me, so always let the estate agent know the good or bad news very quickly.

    Good luck anyway.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I'd be wary of contacting the EA to find out what the state of play is. This 'could' be interpreted as keenness, inviting an attempt to get you to up your offer.
