    Hiya :)

That's OK about the spelling - for another day though, you'll see the "Edit" button down in the bottom right corner of your post and that will give you the chance to have as many goes as you like :)

We have a few threads on sewing, along with links to handy websites in the Craftwork section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the Old Style forum, and they are listed under "sewing".

Books: No need to buy ... borrow from your library!

Some links which may be of use to you (if you have yet found them :o )

GotFabric.Com - lots of projects to look through :)
Better Homes & Gardens - Sewing (sewing basics + projects)
Sewing Org - Home Sewing Lots to read/print off/learn and do on this website :D

Those should get you off to a good start ... you'd best make yourself a sandwich and hot drink ... you might be browsing for a while ;):D

    HTH :)

Sewing Org Guidelines - this is part of the 3rd link above, pdf files on Sewing basics.

I have got some plain tasselled fleece scarves and i'm just going to sew a few beads on one corner of each in the recipient's favourite colours.

There's a useful magazine called "Sewing World" which your newsagent should be able to order for you. It's published by Traplet Publications. W H Smith used to stock it but don't any more, so I ended up subscribing and getting 12 copies for the price of nine. I can't sew very much at the moment but I still enjoy looking at the magazine anyway! :snow_grin
