Paying for work with cash ?
Crowman
I have just agreed to pay my electrician for my house rewire as a cash job, only thing is that he wants 1/2 before job is finished and other 1/2 on completion. Job is well underway with about 3 days work left. Is it too much of a risk to give 1/2 money mid job. Cash saves us about £500.

Don't forget you'll need Building regs certificates.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I'm assuming that this is the case in Scotland too?0

If he's asking for half the cash and has done more than half the work already then you've not got anything to lose

Presumably he has already bought the materials, or did you pay separately for them. If you did not, then paying half the money at this stage, would not be unreasonable. Make sure that you get a receipt.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
