...you can "dump" a Hijack log file into the Trend website and will analyse for you, may I recommend Windows Defender. Good tool and integrates well with Windows as it a "free" product from Microsoft.

There are so many different types of Anti-Malware products out there, I would reommend Spybot Search and Destroy but it can use up to >60MB of system RAM depending on traffic/load, Windows defender seems to use less RAM/CPU resource than the latter, it is up to you.

Windows Defender is good, especially if you use Internet Explorer and it gets even stronger if you run it on Vista. Make sure you've got Windows Update to either download new updates automatically or to notify you then you will either always have, or be prompted to install the latest definitions. That way you won't be without adequate protection.
