  • this usually is added to the cost of the mortgage so not an up front charge called different names by different lenders ie arrangement fee.

So here is my total list so far, can anyone anything missing?
    1, Mortgage Valuation
    2, Mortgage arrangement fee
    3, Conveyancing costs
    4, Search
    5, Land Registry
    6, Homebuyers' survey
    7, Lenders' (structural) survey

The lender won't want a structural survey done, they only have a valuation survey done to ensure the property is worth the money they are lending to you. If you are paying to have a homebuyer's survey done then your lender may not actually make a charge to you for their valuation survey. The Halifax have never billed me for theirs.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
