Due to the fact I need to earn more money to pay off some of my debts-I wondered whether any of you nice people had any ideas to how I can make more money?I do shift work so I can get another job-does anybody know of any companies that I could work for that would allow me to pick shifts on a monthly basis,so I could fit it around my full time job?
Thank you

Raise money by selling old stuff off on ebay and amazon - I work shifts and I know how hard it is to find jobs round it.

If you're looking for actual employment rather than just work from home, places like McDonalds (I know, not the most glamorous job in the world!) are supposed to be quite good at offering flexible shifts.
Or try signing up for some agencies for temping work?
Have a look at the Up Your Income board - there's loads of info there about jobs and other money making schemes! Have you signed up for the £10 a day challenge? Loads of good ideas there too.
Hope that helps!0 -
I do shift work for events for an events agency during the uni holidays; it's very flexible (though not particularly good pay). If you're in London then there will be loads of firms that you can have a look at. My agency does weekend and evening shifts and so on; you can pretty much just ring up and ask what they have that day or the day after and pick the ones which you fancy. Don't know if that kind of thing would appeal to you! I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to do other kinds of shift work through agencies as well.Live on £4000 a Year Challenge member

How about being a rep for the body shop? I have a friend that does it. You can book the parties around your work. Just go to people's house with your kit and sell body shop products. Start with people you know to gain confidence then you can build on it from there.
Not sure what kind of person you are but Ann Summers has a similar thing.
I have an Avon lady, she posts a catalogue through. I fill in what I want then she collects it and delivers my stuff when it arrives. Quite a few people in my street order from her. And that would be even easier to fit around your work. Also with Christmas coming, people are looking for nice little gifts for people.
Maybe something like ironing for people? I know someone who pays £15 for a basket of washing to be ironed. But depending much you like ironing a couple of lots could mount up to lots of pennies.
Hope that is of some help.

I am the queen of second jobs! I have a main job that is working evenings (i have little kiddies) then I am also signed up as bank staff at a local hospital (so cant guarentee hours but there's normally plenty) plus I am signed up with a promotions agency and do the odd day for them every month (again not guarenteed though). previous to that I did early morning cleaning (ridiculously early 4am - 6 am usually) but found it too much. Good luck!0

I have just done an evening paper round for 3 weeks. Just helping out. They now have a kid who wants to do it. I got £8 a week mon-fri took 15 mins a day just delivering 9 evening mails. Good excersise too. Got me out on my bike when I didn't really feel like it. I might offer to stand in again. Though the weather is getting wors now. I know it isn't much, but it wasn't much work either.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Hey sparkly,
Have you considered bar/restaurant work - they can be fairly flexible with shifts. It's reasonably social, so you won't feel like you are missing out and you can get some decent tips (which are tax-free). Bear in mind that you will pay higher tax on a second income though (bummer).0
