Which TV package should i go for?

Hi All,

This is a first poster here so hope it arrives !

I'm after some advice on which TV & DVD to go for (yup dragging myself into the 21st century...........i'm probably the last person left with no dvd player i know).

So , i have a budget of around £650 ish and was wondering if anyone can please advise. Also, any downsides to getting this stuff from Amazon, play.com etc etc. Have been thinking about the HD ready Samsung LCD 26"........anyone bought one?

All advice welcome

Thanks
MWB1

Not an actual TV, but I would suggest looking at Richer Sounds (https://www.richersounds.co.uk) as a good place to buy - you can get it in store, you have somewhere to physically "go" should anything go wrong, and you ge texcellent customer service combined with cheap prices. :)
  • Thanks,

I think there is one not far away...........strangely i've only ever thought of them on the audio side.

    Thanks again

No probs. I love Richer Sounds - I couldn't see any HD ready TVs there within your budget though.

However, they have some excellent deals on top-brand DVD players (a Sharp for £25 and a Panasonic for £30  :T). There is also a Panasonic DVD recorder for £130 (it is for sale somewhere else for £120 though).

Whatever brand you settle on (I am not good at making suggestions for this): can you wait until after Christmas? Prices are bound to be lower then. Also, if you can order online via one of the cashback sites, you could probably get 5% or so additional discount
