  • Hi Mark,
Haven't had time to read the SOA fully, but it looks from your totals as though you've got a nearly £270 deficit, which the OR really won't like as it implies your OH won't be able to live on her income after BR. Any chance you can reduce anything to get the totals more in line? CBx

ps just realised they take the child benefit off, but then the outgoings are even higher than the income.
  • !!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!!!

I'm confused now. Would someone mind editing the soa to something like how it should look so I know what I'm doing please.

Okay looking at this, the car expenses are they your OHs, and does she own the car?

Can you rent a house cheaper than the mortgage?

You pay her less than she puts in do you earn less than she does, have you large debts of your own or maintenance you have to pay for other kids.

How old is the CHILD I take it is only ONE child?

    Give me some more feedback.

Have to say with this deficit CB is right the OR is not going to like it and the judge could even refuse to make you or she br as you have not enough to live on even after it.

i had this problem as well as it was only oh that is going BR .

  • Hi guys

This is confusing as we've always used the whole of my salary to pay all of the bills, mortgage etc and used the OH's salary for food, debt payments and other odd and sods.

OH runs a car for herself which is in my name. I also have my own car. (not possible to manage on one just yet)

We have a 9yr old daughter.

I was told to show the full amount for all of the bills, mortgage etc on the soa which seems to be muddying the waters somewhat.
Why not just do it as though I'm still paying all of the bills and then complete the soa with the overspill?
Or do as I did before and show just half the cost of the bills etc on the soa?

  • Hi Mark,

Yes, it's very confusing, isn't it! I had this same problem when doing the SOA for my OH. It's best if you put all the bills as the full amounts but then just put OH's personal expenses for things like clothes, fuel, car tax, mobile etc. I then made my contribution the right amount to equal the outgoings, which was ok because I earn enough to do that.

Does your joint income cover all the expenses on the SOA? It sounds from your posts as though it does, so it's just making the figures show that.

It looks as though you need to up the £724, and you could put it under "partner's income" but change it to "partner's contribution". The OR doesn't need your total income, just what you are contributing.

    Hope that makes sense! CBx;)
