National Savings certificates - a question?

My mother-in-law wants to buy £15,000 worth.

Are there any discounts she can get (for example rebated commission from an IFA)?

The only thought I have had so far is that if she had the Halifax moneyback current account (which she does not) she could buy them with a debit card and get 1% back as a rebate (actually only on the first £10,000 because that is the condition of that account).

Any ways of getting a discount on the price??

Depending on the current account, you could get money back, in theory. Depends how the bank views this transaction: as a spend or as a money withdrawal.

I don't remember if NSANDI accept credit cards to pay for certificates... Amex would be an option if they do...
    Good, clean fun.... :D
