Amazon lowers free delivery cut-off to £5, but its price promise disappears too.

So far its proved to be great, particularly with Christmas approaching. Just look in the very top right corner of the homepage and click where it says 'Get Unlimited Free One-Day Delivery Now!'
NOTE: Just be sure to cancel your membership before the months trial is up, or you'll probably be stung the £49 a year charge.
You can cancel as soon as you sign up and still get the rest of the month for free. That way you won't forget to cancel.0 -
Usually find book depository cheaper and free postage. http://www.bookdepository.co.uk
Bookrabbit (http://www.bookrabbit.com) is also often cheaper than Amazon, although free delivery is only on orders over £10 so Amazon might work out better on small orders. My book orders are rarely less than £10, though!0 -

Wish I'd known that, I forgot and got caught with the £49 and now it's easier to get free delivery it makes the prime service much less attractive. Think I got stung0 -
Thanks for all the book websites, I'll start trying them.
When I'm buying CDs/games/DVDs etc I always have Amazon and Play open and check both, but if only ordering 1 small item I always go with Play as it is free delivery on everything - although now unlikely not to qualify for free delivery on Amazon.0 -

It's a bit disappointing that they are doing away with the price promise - I've found that to be really great, particularly around the Christmas period. I would rather they kept that than lowered the threshold for free delivery.
I always check prices on a comparison site before buying with amazon, many places do free delivery these days, so I take the overall cost into consideration. I've found SuperSaver Delivery to be fairly slow in the past. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -

It's very irritating. I ordered a dvd drive this morning, and just checked my order now and have found that the price has gone down by £7. And I can't cancel my order anymore. :mad:Wins 2007 :Boots £125, XBOX 360 & 3 games 2008:5 David Gray CDs £10 DVD voucher 2 Crossed Bones DVD & chocolate Torch.
