Hi, looking for a decent external cd/dvd re-writer but not too sure what make / price I should be paying. Could anybody offer any recommendations ??

get a ide cable too usb 2.0 about a tenner ,.. and buy a internal drive it will cost u less then a external ,.. and u'll get a faster drive i.e value for money,.. now thats money saving

FREECOM FX-50 DVD+/-RW 16x Double Layer U&F 125£ ish
this burns DVD-r at 8x so its slower then the NEC 3540A which burns DVD-r at 16x
Note: USB 2.0 has a raw data rate at 480Mbps
also do ur howework if this is the right setup for you0
