  • Looking at the co-op website on the scheme, it answers your questions, and says:

The property must be for entirely residential purposes and be your main home.
The property must be bought with vacant possession, and be immediately habitable. This means that there cannot be any tenants in the property, and it must be in a fit state to live in when you buy it.

...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

  • (2) Most of these schemes allow the number of bedrooms you need plus one. So a couple could buy a 2 bed place, and a couple with one child, 3 beds.

What about a single person? Would a single person be eligible to buy a two bed house under the scheme?

It would sound like it but you should speak to them direct or check out the website.

    Good luck with it.
The problem with these Govt schemes in general though, is that they prop up the FTB house prices. The money doesn't go to the FTB, it goes to the property developer. If the Government money wasn't available, the developer would have to sell the property at a lower price.
