SSE stop pre-pay standing charge

Just received notification that Scottish Hydro are increasing elec charges by 19.2% but doin away with pre-pay meter standin charge. Are they admittin standin charge should never have been levied and are we allowed to claim all previous standing charges paid???

    As you will see elsewhere in discussions about Tier 1 and 2 prices and standing charges, what you will probably find is that you may now be on a tariff that has 2 tier with the price for the first x units being more expensive than the rest. Standing Charge was previously used on prepayment meters because of the complexity and confusion that can arise for operating a 2 tier tariff. And no you can't claim them back.
