Part of the Furniture 500 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
My husband had problems with eyes at one time and was told it Uveitis or Iritus.

He has an inherited condition Ankoloysing Spondilitus (sorry not sure of spelling) which is a arthritic spinal condition. It can cause the spine to lock though fortunately when this was most active in his 20s to 30s he unknowingly did the right thing by keeping moving despite the pain. His father wasn't so fortunate as he was confined to bed and his spine locked and he was bent double.

When he suffered the Uvetis it was a flare up of AS that caused it and he had to put steriod drops into his eyes to stop the pupils sticking (either dilated or they wouldn't dilate....can't remember which now).

It caused his eyes to be very red and sore and firstly it was thought to be conjunctivitus but it didn't go away. On further investigation the eye specialist could see he had AS.

He has gone down the route of using the homeopathic remedy euphrasia which was very effective and not as severe as steriods.

Fortunately the flare up was a long time ago now.

Feeling a little sorry for myself at the mo - after nearly 12 months of being uveitis free, I have had a flare up:mad: Guess its my own fault for going out on a bright sunny and snowy day without any extra eye protection other than my transition lenses:rolleyes: I will be glad when I get my new specs because the transitions in them are better and go much much darker.
